Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh reacting in the middle of an NFL game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
This is getting ridiculous.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport revealed that former New York Jets running back Michael Carter is taking his talents to Tennessee to reunite with Robert Saleh on the Titans.
Carter is now the 12th former Jet that was on Saleh’s staff or roster in New York who has now rejoined him.
Dennis Waszak Jr of the Associated Press took to social media to say, “For those keeping score, and I know you are … former Jets now reunited with Robert Saleh w/ Titans.”
Waszak Jr did miss one: offensive lineman, Austin Deculus. Can’t blame Waszak, it’s hard to keep track of all of these.
Deculus was with the Jets from November of 2023 through August of 2024, crossing over with Saleh for that entire run.
It’s commonplace that a coach gets hired at a new place and would want to bring people he knows from his past. Saleh isn’t different in that regard; however, this is reaching a different level.
Even MORE Jets Connections Exist…
All of the ex-Jets players and coaches mentioned above directly crossed over with Saleh during his time in New York as the head coach.
However, there are even more players and coaches who have former Jets ties that are also on Tennessee’s roster.
Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was the Jets’ quarterbacks coach for two seasons (2007-08).
Quarterback Hendon Hooker wasn’t with the Jets for a long time, but he did finish last season with the green and white.
So here are two more for the pile for those counting at home. The Jets are scheduled to travel to Tennessee to face off against the Titans in 2026. Did someone say revenge game?
Carter Will Get a Shot to Continue His Professional Career
The former North Carolina product entered the league as the No. 107 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft.
Carter, 26, will turn 27 before the start of the 2026 season. He spent the first two and a half years of his career with the Jets.
During that run, he appeared in 39 games and made 21 starts. With those opportunities, Carter toted the rock 269 times for 1,079 rushing yards, and he scored seven rushing touchdowns.
Carter also contributed through the air. He was targeted 129 times, caught 92 receptions for 681 receiving yards.
In November of 2023, the Jets parted ways with Carter. He was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Cardinals. Carter has been with the Cardinals from November of 2023 through the end of the 2025 season.
Carter didn’t get the same opportunities in the desert that he received under the bright lights of New York, but he did the best that he could with the available moments.
He appeared in 22 games and made six starts for Arizona. He finished his Cardinals career with 149 rushing attempts, 613 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns.
In the passing game, Carter was targeted 67 times, caught 53 passes for 357 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.
