It is the season for the regional T20 leagues. At the moment, the KSCA Maharaja Trophy is happening while the Pondicherry Premier League is also taking place. Recently, the Tamil Nadu Premier League finished. We have also seen the Mumbai T20 League and the Maharashtra T20 League, as well. Now, the Delhi Premier League has also started. Some popular cricketers are a part of this event. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two forgotten India pacers who are playing in the Delhi Premier League 2024.
1) Ishant Sharma – Purani Dilli 6
In the limited chances he got in IPL 2024, Ishant Sharma was actually decent for Delhi Capitals. He was able to take some key wickets and he could also display some variations when given the responsibility in the final few overs of the game.
However, a comeback to the Indian Team seems very hard for the veteran. Despite having played over 100 Tests, after being dropped from the team, Ishant Sharma did not get another chance. He also could not make an impact at the domestic level. Nevertheless, playing in the DPL could help him get an IPL contract for the next season.
2) Navdeep Saini – West Delhi Lions
Navdeep Saini is one of the forgotten India pacers who are playing in the Delhi Premier League 2024. The pacer did not play in IPL 2024. It is disappointing for him because a few seasons ago, he was one of the leading pacers for RCB in the IPL.
While he does get selected to the Test squad often, it seems that time may have run out for him here, as well. He was not included in the Duleep Trophy 2024 squads. This means that he may not be in the Test Team plans. For him, the priority must be to do well at the domestic level and get an IPL contract for the next season.
