Despite having a low purse, SRH was bold and aggressive at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. They could hire the likes of Ishan Kishan and Mohammed Shami, who were expected to be picked up by teams with more money. Also, SRH wanted to bring some of their old stars back. However, that did not happen. On that note, here, we take a list of two former players SRH bid for in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions but could not sign
Note: We have not considered players who played for SRH in IPL 2024 to arrive at this list.
1) Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda‘s name came up on the second day. Most of the teams had already exhausted their purses on their priority signings and hence, there was not much demand for Deepak. Nevertheless, there was a short bidding race which was eventually won by CSK.
Deepak had a successful stint at SRH. The team would have liked to have him back as one of the backup batters. His range against spin would have made him the ideal backup for Nitish Kumar Reddy.
2) Mitchell Marsh
Mitchell Marsh is one of the former players SRH bid for in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions but could not sign. SRH has the fourth overseas spot option open in the playing XI.
The likes of Adam Zampa and Kamindu Mendis could play as the four foreigner. However, if Mitchell Marsh was picked up, he would have played at No.3. His presence would have made the batting line-up even more dangerous.
