23/24 Carabao Cup Third Round draw live in full

The Carabao Cup Third Round draw is made live and in full, following busy midweek action from the Second Round with a few surprises.

The Carabao Cup Round Three draw took place live on Sky Sports following the conclusion of the Round Two tie between Doncaster Rovers and Everton on Wednesday the 30th of August.

Sky Sports’ Emma Saunders hosted the draw alongside former Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore and recently retired England international, Izzy Christiansen.

Current Cup holders Manchester United, Premier League champions Manchester City and nine-time Cup winners Liverpool enter at this stage, as do last season’s Cup runners-up Newcastle United, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, Aston Villa and West Ham United.

The draw is not be regionalised, with any of the 32 Clubs in Round Three being able to be drawn against any participating team.

It is worth remembering that the winner of the competition will qualify for the play-off round of the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League.

Here’s what fans said as the 23/24 Carabao Cup Third Round draw is made live in full…

@SJview: #LFC fans gotta be happy with that home tie vs Leicester in the #CarabaoCup For one awful moment there, I thought we were getting Man Cheaty. Thankfully, they play their fellow sport-washers, Newcastle. 🤭

@fabianautiero: How do people genuinely get excited for ties like Newcastle vs Man City or Chelsea vs Brighton when you can guarantee it’ll be on the tele twice already this season. A very disappointing draw for the EFL clubs. #CarabaoCup

@OverTheToon: Delighted with that draw! Meeting them now rather than in the semis or final is way better. We’re at home, they’ll potentially rest players, and if we win we don’t need to fear anyone left in the comp. If we lose it’s 5 or so less fixtures to cram in! #nufc #carabaocup #mcfc

@EricBlueMonster:
#CarabaoCup wise
Same league = bit shit.
Home draw + not Burnley + not City = not shit.
Bring it on!
#Rovers

@Leannewilliams1: What a dire draw 😩 #scfc

@AlexNeilBarArmy: What a wank draw that is #scfc

@WorthAlfie: Only one to not be happy with our draw? Don’t get me wrong it increases our odds of progressing further but would rather a class away fixture than lose to Sutton at home.🤣 #CarabaoCup #pvfc

@Paddy_McKeanEFC: Bring on Aston Villa, it’s going to be a very tough game for us but you’ve got to beat the best teams if you want to progress in any competition! It’s football and anything can happen! @Everton #EFC #AVFC #COYB #UpTheToffees #CarabaoCup.
