Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi Receives a Spectacular Facelift Ahead of ODI World Cup

The World Cup is around the corner. Excitements are on another level. This time India is a little more excited. This edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup is going to be hosted by India. Venues have already been selected. Mumbai, Delhi, and Dharamsala are undergoing major renovations.

BCCI is determined to provide the absolute best experience in this tournament. The tournament will be hosted in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Dharamsala, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will be hosting warm-up games. 

BCCI’s Budget for the Stadiums:

 BCCI set a budget of 500 crores to renovate every venue. Each venue will get 50 crores for development. Arun Jaitly stadium of Delhi is upgrading its new outfield. Not just the outfield DDCA is also looking into basic hygiene-related issues. In the last few years game’s popularity has been more soared. BCCI is earning Crores from media rights. But there are some serious issues with the stadium’s infrastructure. 

Arun Jaitley Stadium’s Renovation:

According to some sources, DDCA will be changing seats, renovating washrooms, and changing ticketing software under this renovation process. As of now, Arun Jaitley stadium holds a capacity of 35000 people soon it will be added 10,000 more. This stadium is getting a new outfield for the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Just not that ground other stadiums like Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai’s stadiums are also going through major makeovers. Wankhede is getting a new outfield. Kolkata’s Eden Gardens is working on floodlights and pitch. Chennai’s MA Chidambaram stadium is installing new LED lights and a square has been dug up to implant two red soil pitches.

Games Scheduled:

  On October 7, Delhi will host the opening match between South Africa and a qualifier. October 11 will be a great game. On October 14, the Afghanistan vs. England match will be held here. The other two matches will be scheduled on October 25th and November 6th.
