Harbhajan Singh’s Bold Remark After India’s Dominance vs PAK And SL

Former India spinner, Harbhajan Singh spoke on India’s 41-run victory against Sri Lanka in the fourth Super Fours in the Asia Cup 2023 on Tuesday (September 12th) at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and said that 214 is always a tricky target.

In the first inning, India went to bat first and gave a target of 214 runs after Rohit Sharma made a half-century. He scored 53 runs from 48 balls with a strike rate of 110.42. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan also played well to lead the middle order.

However, the Men in Blue batsmen failed to mark in front Dunith Wellalage after he bagged a five-wicket haul in the match.

In the second inning, Kuldeep Yadav led the bowling attack once again and picked up four wickets in his 9.3 over spell which helped India to successfully defend the target. Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah also took two wickets each in the second inning.

While speaking on his official YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh said that Axar Patel’s spell at the end of the second inning helped India clinch a 41-run win against the island country.

The former India spinner added that 214 is a tricky target by seeing the condition of the stadium in Colombo and that it was never going to be easy for the Sri Lanka batting line-up to chase down such targets. Bhaji also praised the Sri Lankan spin attack after seeing their stellar performance in the first inning.

“Axar Patel’s cameo at the end proved to be very useful. 214 was always going to be a tricky target seeing the pitch, and it was not going to be easy for Sri Lanka to chase it down. Sri Lanka spinners bowled well though, that must be said,” Harbhajan Singh said.

Kuldeep Yadav bowled really well once again: Harbhajan Singh

Bhajji praised Kuldeep Yadav for displaying another stupendous inning and picking up four wickets. Singh did not forget to applaud Jasprit Bumrah and added that he looked in good form after returning from injury.

“Kuldeep Yadav bowled really well once again, and Bumrah looked in good rhythm once again, just like he was in the match against Pakistan. With this form, India will win the Asia Cup, and it was important to get into such form right before the World Cup,” Harbhajan Singh added.

In the sixth Super Fours match of the Asia Cup 2023, India will lock horns against Bangladesh on Friday (September 15th).
