2025/26 Ghana Premier League: Week 29 Match Preview – Medeama SC vs. Asante Kotoko – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

A high-stakes showdown awaits at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium this Sunday as Medeama SC host Asante Kotoko in a crucial Ghana Premier League title showdown.

Medeama enter the fixture under mounting pressure to rediscover consistency at a pivotal stage of the season.

Currently sitting second on the table with 50 points, just one behind leaders Gold Stars, the Mauve and Yellow have endured a difficult run, managing only one victory in their last eight league matches (four draws and three defeats). Their most recent outing, a 1-1 draw away to Bechem United, required a late equalizer to salvage a point, further highlighting their recent struggles.

Despite this dip in form, Medeama remain the league’s most potent attacking side, having scored an impressive 37 goals while conceding 20 in 28 matches. At home, they have been relatively solid, recording nine wins, four draws, and just one defeat in 14 matches. With 24 goals scored and only nine conceded at Tarkwa, Ibrahim Tanko’s men will look to leverage their home advantage.

However, history poses a challenge—they have failed to defeat Kotoko in their last five home league meetings, drawing three and losing two.

Asante Kotoko travel to Tarkwa seeking to revive their fading title ambitions. The Porcupine Warriors have also struggled for rhythm, securing just one win in their last five matches, alongside a draw and two defeats. Their recent 2-1 home loss to FC Samartex 1996 has left them fourth on the table with 43 points, eight points off the summit.

Nonetheless, Kotoko’s overall campaign has been competitive. They boast the league’s second-best attack with 34 goals and have conceded only 18—one of the strongest defensive records so far. Away from home, they have shown resilience, ranking as the third-best traveling side with four wins, five draws, and five losses, scoring and conceding nine goals apiece.
