Kabras Sugar remain firmly on course to finish top of the 2025/26 Kenya Cup regular season after the competition’s fixtures committee ruled on the abandoned clash against KCB Rugby Club.
The highly anticipated top-of-the-table encounter between Kabras Sugar and KCB Rugby Club, played at the KCB Sports Club, was halted at halftime, forcing the fixtures committee to review the outcome. After deliberation, the committee ruled that the score at the time the match was stopped would stand as the final result since the game had been played up to the halftime break and interrupted by natural cause
The decision means Kabras Sugar remain unbeaten this season, extending their impressive run while maintaining their grip on the summit of the standings with 47 points after ten matches. KCB Rugby stay second with 45 points, level with Menengai Oilers but ahead on head to head.
With the regular season nearing its conclusion, Kabras now need victory against Menengai Oilers in their upcoming clash to officially seal the top spot and guarantee a home semi-final and final once again.
Menengai Oilers, who sit third with 45 points, remain in contention for a top-two finish and will view their showdown against Kabras as a crucial opportunity to shake up the standings. The Oilers bounced back strongly in the latest round, producing a dominant 48-3 victory over MMUST to keep their title ambitions alive.
