2025 Baseball5 Euros Preview – mister-baseball.com

The city of Panevėžys, Lithuania, is hosting the 2025 Baseball5 European Championship from Nov. 3-8. The competition will take place in the Kalnapilis Arena, which has a seating capacity of around 5,600, with two courts in use. This year’s championship will feature national teams from Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Türkiye, and Ukraine. Each squad will be vying not only for continental glory but also for qualification to the next WBSC Baseball5 World Cup, adding an extra layer of intensity to the competition.

This is the third edition of the Baseball5 Euros, all hosted by different Lithuanian cities. In 2020, France defeated Lithuania in the final, with Russia dispatching Italy for the bronze. The second championship allowed Lithuania to take revenge over the French, while Spain survived a three-set battle with the Netherlands for third.

The numbers of teams have grown slightly for the 2025 Baseball5 Euros, expanding from 13 in 2023. The initial tournament was supposed to include 16, but two nations withdrew just before the event began. Five countries make their debuts this year: Croatia, Denmark, Poland, Türkiye, and Ukraine. Meanwhile, eight states have played in all three editions: Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, the Netherlands, and Romania. Noteable absences are the Czech Republic and Latvia, each of which competed in the last two championships, with the former active in other competitions as well. When the tournament was first announced in May [link], Estonia was not listed among the nations, but have evidently been added since.
