After a very long patch, 16.2 brings much-needed relief and changes to Teamfight Tactics. Some of these changes are much bigger than others and could change the meta in a big way. But which ones matter? Here are our 3 Best TFT Comps on Patch 16.2 to Help You Climb!
TFT Patch 16.2 Comps
There are some carryovers from 16.1 for the TFT Patch 16.2 Comps that you can run. According to Mortdog and the TFT Devs we should expect bigger changes with 16.3 in a few weeks. That being said, there are still some newer and better comps to help you climb.
Comp 1: Sona Reroll
We are going to show these comps but also give you some advice on how to play them. This one comes from
TFT Academy
but with a few tweaks.
- You want to get Sona’s as quickly as possible so saving gold until you hit level 5 is preferred.
- Remember to unlock Poppy asap with 2 items on any of Sona, J4 or Xin Zhao.
- Once you get to 50, start slowrolling (Slowrolling means do not go below 50 Gold if you can help it) to get these champions in this order:
- Sona 3 Star
- J4 3 Star
- Anivia 3 Star (2 Star is fine though)
- Poppy 2 Star
- Xin Zhao 2 Star
- Once you get those, you should be win streaking. If not, then it is okay to try and stablize by rushing to level 7.
- At level 6, just throw any other Freljords out there to get the Trait buff and take our either Xin or Poppy until level 7.
- Focus on getting as many Tears as you can for Sona. While Gunblade it great on her, the Archangel’s Staff is much more important.
- After this, you just need to focus on getting Galio by picking up Demacian’s whenever and where ever you can.
- Once you have Galio get to level 9 and you should be extremely strong by then.
- In terms of Augments, you should focus on Econ in order to Reroll. Then you will want to look at items to make sure you get enough to make Sona strong.
- You can move your units around however you would like. Do note that Sona will probably be pretty contested but if you can get her to even just 2 Star you can outlive the other Sona players in your lobby.

Comp 2: Vayne Kai’Sa

You can find this comp anywhere as it is a major standout from Patch 16.1 but it has certainly carried over. This will be the Demacia version as it is just easier to get to than the Longshot version.
- The most important part of this comp is getting a Guinsoo’s as quickly as you can. No matter what Longshot you give it to, Caitlyn or Kog’Maw, it will allow you to winstreak sooner.
- Beyond that, you will want to grab Demacia champions as early as possible.
- Again, remember to unlock Poppy asap with 2 items on any of Sona, J4 or Xin Zhao.
- Then to keep as much Health as you can, it is okay to level up to 4, 5 and 6 even by sacrificing your Gold. Only do so to stabalize though.
- Once you get Rageblade, you will want to focus on at least one Kraken’s Fury and one Hextech Gunblade.
- Once you have the right items for your two carries, you need to focus on a strong frontline. This means getting any Junggernaut, Warden or Defender to go with Poppy, Xin Zhao or J4 until you get Garen or Swain.
- Get those three items onto Vayne and then get to Level 7 and start slowrolling to Vayne 3 Star. (Slowrolling means do not go below 50 Gold if you can help it)
- As long as you can get at least two 2 Star Vayne you should be fine to go to Level 8.
- Once you do, you can unlock Kai’Sa and from there you need to get the Rageblade and Gunblade on her and get het to 2 Star as quickly as you can.
- Kai’Sa got a nice Buff so she will be able to do even more than she was doing before.
- Lastly, to top things off, put any extra Cloaks or defensive items on Galio. He can do a lot more damage than you think, surivive longer than you thing and shield your frontline or carries in a big way.
Comp 3: LeBlanc Frenemies

Truthfully this one is a bit of a homebrew and not on any tier lists but it feels like it will be a fun and pretty strong comps.
- LeBlanc got a major buff and Sona is strong so the idea is building your team around them.
- Along with this you are getting the Noxus Atakhan buff and at least the lower tier of Demacis for the resistances.
- The focus to start is getting Sona and Sion quickly. Once you do you can put two items on either of them and use the remover and that will unlock Poppy and LeBlanc.
- If you can get this by level 4 then you are already cooking.
- Once you get to level 6, you can start rolling for Sona, Sion and if you would like Poppy.
- With 2 Star Sona, LeBlanc and Sion, you just have to wait until level 7 to get Kobuko & Yuumi.
- The biggest issue with this comp is stacking Sion and keeping the fronline alive. Getting any 2 Star Bruiser along with Sion, a Juggernaught, Demacia or Noxus 3 will give your LeBlanc and Sona plenty of time to do some serious damage.
- If you are able to get Sona to 3 Star that is great but if not then you want to focus on 3 Star LeBlanc.
- Throw your tank items on Sion until you get Swain to get him as many stacks as possible.
- When focusing on items you want to get LeBlanc’s items first. Then at least one Warmogs. After that you can focus on Sona’s items. You can get an extra Archangel’s if you are able to but if not then that is completely fine and you can go either Blue Buff or a different AP item.
- Lastly, you can top this board off with Ornn or Shyvana once you get to level 9.
- We are still testing this one but as long as LeBlanc is not heavily contested and your frontline is able to stabalize, you could see some consistant Top 4 performances.
