Chennai Super Kings will go for a major change in squad before IPL 2025. They could target some of the in-form players at the auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three brilliant batters from the 2024 T20 WC whom CSK can target for IPL 2025.
1) Quinton de Kock
It needs to be noted that Quinton de Kock has turned 30 only recently. He still has a long way in his career if he prefers. Therefore, for any team thinking of hiring him, age must not be a concern.
When it comes to skills, despite the lack of it in certain areas, QDK makes up for it in other departments. He is also a fine wicket-keeper and would be the perfect option to replace MS Dhoni behind the stumps. Of course, the likes of Devon Conway would be preferred but at the auction, the dynamics could change all the plans.
2) R Gurbaz
Gurbaz is one of the brilliant batters from the 2024 T20 WC whom CSK can target for IPL 2025. Usually, CSK goes for experience at the top of the order. However, in recent years, they have done well in hiring promising youngsters. Gurbaz is just 22 but he already has sufficient experience in the IPL.
CSK needs a wicket-keeper for the future and if not as the first-choice option, he can be considered on the bench, at least, as a backup. His consistency has been brilliant and he could do wonders at CSK.
3) Marcus Stoinis
You could say that it all began at Chepauk when Stoinis played a blinder against CSK in IPL 2024. His confidence hit its peak and Stoinis never looked back since then. He did well in the 2024 T20 World Cup, as well.
You could count him as an all-rounder but his major task will be with the bat. He could bat at multiple slots, including at the top of the order as an opener. CSK might like his profile and could target him.
