Mumbai Indians had a good core in IPL 2024. Yet, the team finished 10th on the table. The owners are ambitious and they will surely try to set things right in the coming auctions. They will be desperate to win IPL 2025. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three brilliant batters from the 2024 T20 WC whom Mumbai Indians can target for IPL 2025.
1) Quinton de Kock
Quinton de Kock played a vital role in the Mumbai Indians Team when the team was on a winning spree. The opening combination with Rohit Sharma was the perfect one and QDK was also brilliant behind the stumps.
Considering Ishan Kishan’s poor returns recently, MI could consider going back to their former player. He would add balance and experience to the side.
2) Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis is one of the brilliant batters from the 2024 T20 WC whom Mumbai Indians can target for IPL 2025. He is an all-rounder but for a T20 team, his services with the bat are more needed than with the ball. From IPL 2024, the Aussie has been in stunning touch.
Tim David has been disappointing for MI in recent years. There is someone in the mould of Kieron Pollard needed to assist Hardik Pandya in the death overs. Stoinis might be the ideal profile in this regard. If needed, he is someone who can be promoted up in the batting order, as well.
3) Phil Salt
The auction dynamics are such that KKR might not be assured of getting back Phil Salt for IPL 2025. Under the hammer, his name would be in great demand. Hence, KKR could go out of the race and some other team could get Salt for the next season.
The Englishman would be the perfect addition at the top of the order for MI. The conditions in Wankhede would suit him and he is also an established wicket-keeper.
