Dynamics could change a lot in a Mega Auction. Of course, every team will be looking at the present but they will be equally looking forward to the future. Hence, even if a player has contributed a lot in the last edition, his place could still be doubtful because he may not fit in the equation for the future. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three cricketers who played more than 10 games in IPL 2024 but could still go unsold.
1) Piyush Chawla
It is because MI did not have a frontline pacer that they had to suffice with Piyush Chawla. He, anyway, did well in the chances he got.
However, Chawla might not be a target for all teams. His age is not fit and there are better domestic spinners available now. Therefore, he might go unsold at the bidding event.
2) Jaydev Unadkat
Jaydev Unadkat is one of the cricketers who played more than 10 games in IPL 2024 but could still go unsold. SRH needed a left-handed powerplay bowler and that is the only reason Unadkat got picked in the last auctions.
He was decent in his performances but teams could now take a risk on the younger and modern T20 pacers. Hence, Unadkat’s time might be over. Teams will be constructed from the scratch and Unadkat may not feature in the plans for many.
3) Daryl Mitchell
The Kiwi did find some form in the last few games but that did not help CSK progress further. For a cricketer who took a high salary, it was expected that he would make a great impact. The environment around him was also perfect for his success.
IPL could be a tough place and it may not be a shock if he goes unsold in the Mega Auctions. Teams may not be interested in Daryl’s services because of his inconsistency and he has not shown his X-Factor in IPL, till now. Therefore, he is on this list.
