3 Dubai Capitals players Hemang Badani could target for Delhi Capitals

Not many realize that Hemang Badani was the Head Coach of Dubai Capitals in ILT20 2024. Hence, it is not a big surprise that he has been given the role by the owners in IPL, as well. Using his experience in the UAE, Hemang can target a few players who were contracted for the Dubai Capitals. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Dubai Capitals players Hemang Badani could target for Delhi Capitals.

1) Nuwan Thushara

Nuwan Thushara lends that cutting edge that most T20 teams need in the XI. Yes, he might not be perfect but if he plays more IPL cricket, he will further hone his skills.

Across the globe, he has plenty of experience. Last season, he played for Mumbai Indians. With the Impact Player rule, there is a bigger platform for such cricketers.

2) R Gurbaz

R Gurbaz is one of the Dubai Capitals players Hemang Badani could target for Delhi Capitals. While Jake Fraser-McGurk will be the first target for DC as the opener, if the release him, it could also be tough to get him back. Irrespective of that, DC can target Gurbaz as the first-choice opener or as a backup.

He already has a few years of experience in the IPL. The Afghan is very young and will only develop further. Also, with him in the team, DC need not worry about the backup keeper if Pant is not fit or is unavailable.

3) Mark Wood

DC need to find a good replacement for Anrich Nortje. Wood would be the ideal candidate in this regard. The owners had him on the payroll for the recent ILT20 2024.

That said, as usual, he will be a big risk with his fitness and availability. Only if he is available for the tournament, DC can consider bringing him to Delhi. The player can lead the pace attack and offer that cutting edge to the side.
