Foreign players withdraw from IPL due to various reasons. It could be due to injury or any personal reasons. This will disappoint a franchise because they would have planned and picked him. If a cricketer is ruled out due to a non-injury cause, a rule could come to ban him. Here, we take a look at the list of three Englishmen who may not enter IPL 2025 Auctions if there is a ban on players for withdrawal.
1) Mark Wood
Mark Wood is a fragile player and is very prone to injuries. He has to pick and choose tournaments. Therefore, with the Ashes and some important tournaments coming up, he might not play in IPL 2025.
It would be a better idea than getting picked and then pulling himself out. Also, in a Mini Auction, he could get more bids. Therefore, he is on this list.
2) Jofra Archer
Jofra Archer recently returned from a long injury layoff. He would want to extend his fitness for the next couple of months and also in the red-ball format. Playing IPL would be risky.
Anyways, his stocks have had a reduction in value in IPL. He may not get the value that he used to have a couple of years back. Hence, staying away from the competition could be an approach.
3) Jason Roy
Jason Roy is one of the Englishmen who may not enter IPL 2025 Auctions if there is a ban on players for withdrawal. The English opener has withdrawn from IPL on several occasions in the past.
For him, getting another chance in IPL itself could be difficult, especially with his form for England. However, you could never rule out a comeback. That said, Roy might not want to spoil his future IPL career by getting himself banned when the tide changes for him. Hence, he may not enter IPL 2025 Auctions unless he is very sure of playing it.
