3 former players KKR can target as the new Mentor for IPL 2025

Gautam Gambhir’s exit leaves a big gap at KKR. On his return to the franchise as a Mentor, GG was able to bring a trophy to KKR. Now that he has taken the role of Head Coach at BCCI, he cannot continue with his position at KKR. The IPL 2024 winners will be on the lookout for some fine options to fill this gap. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three former players KKR can target as the new Mentor for IPL 2025.

1) Harbhajan Singh

The former India spinner has been reportedly wanting to get a coaching role. As per reports, he was inclined towards applying for the India Head Coach position. However, that did not happen.

Nevertheless, with his tremendous experience in the IPL, Bhajji would be a top option to have in the backroom. He can also double up as a spin-bowling coaching, which is needed for youngsters like Suyash Sharma in the team.

2) Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan is one of the former players KKR can target as the new Mentor for IPL 2025. Under him as the skipper, KKR reached the finals a few years ago despite having a not-so-established squad.

Not to mention, Morgan also won the World Cup back in 2019 as the skipper of England. He is the perfect candidate to strengthen the tactical side of any team. Therefore, KKR could target him to replace Gambhir.

3) Aaron Finch

It is surprising that Finch is yet to take up a role as a coach after his retirement. The tactically brilliant skipper that he was, he will surely have ideas and a solid vision as a coach.

It was a brief time that he spent at KKR. Nevertheless, as a Mentor, he can add a lot of value to the setup. Therefore, he is on this list.
