It is usually the capped Indians who sign up for a stint in the County. It is either to prepare for the English conditions or to make a statement and get back to the Indian side. However, a few uncapped Indian Test cricketers have done well in the County Championship. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians who never played Tests for India but have done well in the County in the last 2 years.
1) Siddarth Kaul
The Punjab man is unlucky you could say. He always steps up in the domestic events but never gets chances at the higher level, either in the IPL or for India.
Nevertheless, he recently did well in the County in a few games. He was unsold in the IPL Auctions and hence, Kaul was plying trade in England.
2) Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the Indians who never played Tests for India but has done well in the County in the last 2 years. Despite his success in the other two formats, Chahal never played for India in the red-ball format. He was anyways not groomed for that role.
However, in the County, he has been smashing it in 2024 with his performances. If Chahal puts on a good show in the Ranji Trophy, as well, there could be a spot that could get open for a right-handed leg-spinner.
3) B Sai Sudharsan
Even before he played for India in the white-ball formats, Sai had already inked a deal with the County Championship. He had even played a few games for them by then.
This shows the cricketer’s desire to play for India in Tests. He has also been doing well in this regard. If he continues to do so, it will not be long before he plays for India in Tests, as well.
