3 pacers India might take as travelling reserves to BGT in Australia

Mohammed Shami has stated that he is in rehab and is trying to get himself ready as early as possible. That said, India must be aware of his recent injury history and should not push him too much. There is a chance that he could get injured again. Hence, it is best to take some reserves for this tour. It is assumed that Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep will be the main pacers. Here, we take a look at the list of three pacers India might take as travelling reserves to BGT in Australia.

1) Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar did not do very well in South Africa or against England at home. However, there was potential seen in him and his attributes could be of great use.

Considering he is doing well in the Irani Trophy, there is a chance that he could be selected for BGT. At least, as a backup, he surely deserves a chance.

2) Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana is one of the pacers India might take as travelling reserves to BGT in Australia. It appears that his debut is long pending. He has all the skills to gain success in Australia. Considering his age, it is the right time to invest in the Delhi lad.

Harshit is also a very good No.8 batter. India might not select Shardul Thakur and could trust Akash Deep for this role. However, as a reserve, Harshit Rana can be a solid choice. In fact, he could even be the fifth pacer if Yash Dayal is not selected.

3) Prasidh Krishna

Just like Shami, Prasidh is also coming from a long injury lay-off. However, he has already started playing and is doing decently well.

India needs some HTD specialists and Prasidh can be a good choice. He was ineffective in South Africa but India must give more chances to him.
