3 players RCB might surprisingly release because of the new IPL 2025 retention rules

A lot of teams will now be working a lot on their retention choices. The new rules by BCCI are different and teams will have to be intelligent. RCB will also have some tough calls to take. Here, we take a look at the list of three players RCB might surprisingly release because of the new IPL 2025 retention rules.

1) Cameron Green

RCB will prioritize the Indian players before they discuss Green. If that is the case, Green can be retained at a price close to INR 18 Cr or INR 14 Cr.

He is currently injured and that could reduce his price at the auctions. Plus, RCB anyways has the RTM. Hence, it makes sense for the franchise to release and then buy him again.

2) Mohammed Siraj

Siraj is one of the players RCB might surprisingly release because of the new IPL 2025 retention rules. It is not sure if Siraj will be worth INR 14 Cr or INR 11 Cr, the amount which RCB will have to spend if they have to retain the pacer.

Yes, he is a good player but he could hired at a lower price at the auctions. Since there are many other pacers, as well, RCB can target them if they miss out on Siraj. That said, if Siraj does well in the coming games, his stocks will rise in value.

3) Will Jacks

All the while, it was dependent on the retention rules for RCB to decide on his retention. With the season he had, he was in the plans, especially if an amount close to INR 6 Cr was enough.

However, RCB will now need a minimum of INR 11 Cr to retain him. Will‘s recent form is bad and it is easy to get him back at a lower fee at the auctions.
