Indian skipper Rohit Sharma couldn’t be any happier upon steering his team to T20 World Cup 2024 glory in the 2024 edition. The Men in Blue got their tactics spot on throughout the tournament. Rightly so, they reaped rewards for their hard work, grit and determination.

India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in a nail-biting encounter in Barbados to win their second T20 World Cup title. In the process, India ended their ICC title drought after 11 long years. Rohit Sharma has been a crown jewel for Team India in the truncated version of the game.

Rohit Sharma played 159 T20Is so far, scoring 4231 runs at an average of 32 at a strike rate of 140.9, laced with five centuries and 32 half-centuries. Gill has just started to get into the learning curve in terms of captaincy and is expected to pick up lessons on the go. He is the captain of Gujarat Titans and he led the Ahmedabad-based franchise in IPL 2024 but failed to qualify for the playoffs. Gill scored 335 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 147.6, including a century and a fifty.
