Gautam Gambhir coached India to a whitewash against Sri Lanka in the T20I series. India’s next T20 challenge will be against Bangladesh in October. Some of the players who operated in Sri Lanka may not get a chance against Bangladesh. Here, we take a look at the list of three players who may not get selected for the next T20I series against Bangladesh.
1) Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson had a forgettable outing in Sri Lanka. He played two matches and did not manage to open his account. This was a disaster result for him under the new Head Coach.
Therefore, the Kerala cricketer may not find a spot in the squad. India needs to have a ready backup wicket-keeper and someone like Dhruv Jurel could be groomed in this regard. That said, Sanju does deserve one more opportunity because of the skills and talent that he has.
2) K Khaleel Ahmed
K Khaleel Ahmed is one of the players who may not get selected for the next T20I series against Bangladesh. The left-arm pacer from Rajasthan got a single game but he was not able to do well, despite it being a low-scoring game.
He also failed to grab his chances in the last series against Zimbabwe. It is the time to experiment and Gautam Gambhir could consider the likes of Yash Dayal for the challenge against Bangladesh.
3) Mohammed Siraj
It could be more about workload management for the Indian cricketer. He is most likely a starter for the Tests and will also be a part of the BGT against Australia later this year. Hence, it could be important to keep him fresh and ready.
At the same time, Siraj has not been at his best in T20Is. In the third match, he did have a good run but in the other two matches, he was not that great. Gautam Gambhir will also have a keen eye on this.
