3 teams that must target Rashid Khan if he wants captaincy in IPL 2025

As a captain, Rashid Khan did a wonderful job in the 2024 T20 World Cup. In IPL, as well, he is a cricketer who might look forward to such a role. At Gujarat Titans, that might not happen as Shubman Gill will surely be backed for a while. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams that must target Rashid Khan if he wants captaincy in IPL 2025.

1) Punjab Kings

The captaincy spot at Punjab Kings is wide open. Shikhar Dhawan is likely to not play for Punjab Kings again while Sam Curran could be a risky choice.

In this regard, Punjab Kings could go for Rashid Khan if he is available in the auctions. He will lead the spin attack and will also be the captain for the side. In Rashid, PBKS will also get a player whom they can back for a long period.

2) Royal Challengers Bengaluru

RCB is one of the teams that must target Rashid Khan if he wants captaincy in IPL 2025. It will be a shock if Faf du Plessis remains the captain of RCB in IPL 2025. The main reason is his age.

Also, it has been a while since RCB has had a reliable spinner in the team. RCB needs a popular face to become the next skipper and Rashid Khan would be a top option in this regard. The team’s bowling attack would also improve if Rashid is there in the team.

3) Lucknow Super Giants

KL Rahul might be released by LSG. Nicholas Pooran is also firmly available as a captaincy choice. However, the dynamics could change if LSG lands Rashid Khan in the auction.

Rashid is certainly a better candidate to lead the side, especially considering the pitch conditions at the EKANA Stadium. Therefore, LSG is also a likely destination for Rashid.
