3 teams which could target James Anderson if he enters IPL 2025 Auctions

As per reports, James Anderson wants to finish his career with a stint in some of the T20 leagues. Considering his experience and the skills he has, it would not be a surprise if a few teams eye him. Even in the IPL, he could find some bidders. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could target James Anderson if he enters IPL 2025 Auctions.

1) Punjab Kings

Last season, the Punjab Kings had Chris Woakes on the bench despite spending a lot of money to hire him. Maybe, he was an option for the team when they had to travel to Dharamshala.

The HPCA Stadium offers good value to the swing bowlers. In this regard, Anderson would be a good pick for the franchise. His experience will also help the other players on the side.

2) Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians is one of the teams which could target James Anderson if he enters IPL 2025 Auctions. MI has always had the strategy of two overseas pacers in the XI. This did not work for them in IPL 2024 but the franchise could still insist on it going forward.

MI would ideally want someone to dominate in the powerplay so that they could use Jasprit Bumrah in other phases. Anderson is a top new-ball bowler and his experience could be handy here. If it works out, MI would have an excellent pace attack.

3) Gujarat Titans

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is also a fine stadium for swing bowlers. Especially under lights, the stadium offers good conditions for the players who can move the ball. The likes of Sandeep Warrier also did well in IPL 2024.

GT could therefore target someone like Anderson. While he may not be the preferred overseas pacer, as a backup, he would be a luxury to have.
