English cricketer Jofra Archer has registered for the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. In the last few months, he has improved his fitness and considering his talent, there could be demand for him. That said, the demand will be as a second-choice overseas pacer and not as a lead one. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could target Jofra Archer in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
1) Chennai Super Kings
CSK already has the best overseas pacer in the form of Matheesha Pathirana. The team must plan for a suitable backup and also a partner if the team combination allows two overseas pacers.
Jofra can hit the deck hard and this is one attribute CSK might want to add in their pace attack. They have a low purse but since Jofra’s fitness issues are there, he might not go for a big free and CSK can make use of this chance.
2) Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Royal Challengers Bengaluru is one of the teams which could target Jofra Archer in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. It needs to be noted that the management of RCB hails from England. Mo Bobat is the director of cricket while Andy Flower is settled in England and is very well-versed in English cricket.
Last season, the management was insistent on pacers with raw pace and hit-the-deck skills. Therefore, Jofra Archer could be a target for the franchise. His batting skills at No.8 could also be a factor for Andy Flower to sign the cricketer.
3) Rajasthan Royals
It was at RR that we saw the best of Jofra Archer in the IPL. The franchise could be in line to sign him again as one of the overseas pacers.
RR might need to replace Trent Boult as they could find it hard to buy him again. Jofra Archer at a decent price is a good option for the side.
