Suryakumar Yadav Praises Team India’s Bonding After Series Win

After the T20 World Cup, a glorious era ended in Indian cricket along with that a new era started. After Rahul Dravid, Gautam Gambhir took the helm of the post of the Indian coach. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma retired from T20I cricket, and Suryakumar Yadav was appointed as the T20I captain of this series. Under his captaincy, Team India whitewashed Sri Lanka in the series. After that incredible win, captain Suryakumar Yadav reflected on the team’s bonding. 

Team India’s Dominating Series Win:

After winning the previous Zimbabwe series, Team India also secured the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Since the first match, they have been dominating. After winning the first T20 match by 43 runs, they boosted their confidence. They continued their dominating form in the second T20I match. 

But the third T20I match was a thriller one. Both teams fought hard and the match moved towards super over. While batting first, Team India posted a total of 137 runs. Shubman Gill scored 39 runs in 37 balls. Riyan Parag played an impactful innings of 26 runs in 18 balls. On the flip side, Sri Lankan batters also scored 137 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Kusal Mendis played a knock of 43 runs in 41 balls. 

Kusal Perera played an impactful knock of 46 runs. In the second innings, Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav grabbed the limelight with their bowling skills. Both secured 2 wickets each. As the match proceeded toward the super-over, Washington Sundar nailed the game. With that win, Team India secured the series win with a margin of 3-0.

Surya on Team’s Bond:

After the game, Suryakumar mentioned that the team prefers sitting in large groups rather than small ones. This approach helps strengthen team bonding and ensures everyone stays connected. That bond helped the team to showcase the unity on the field. 

He said, “Trend started from T20I World Cup that we have decided that we will not sit in small groups like 2-3 players, we will sit together in every moment whether the situation is good or bad & this helped us a lot in terms of our bonding in the team”
