His role increased in 2024, as he totaled 1,125 rushing yards, 237 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. Love helped the Fighting Irish go to the National Championship Game last season. In 2025, Love has amassed 1,372 rushing yards, 280 receiving yards and 21 total touchdowns. He helped Notre Dame win 10 games, but it wasn’t enough to make the CFP and the Fighting Irish declined a bowl invitation.
Following the 2025 season, Love declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is projected to be drafted in the first round.
Jeremiyah Love Strengths
Love is a great athlete for the running back position in a few different ways. He has good acceleration at the snap and is able to get to top speed quickly. Love is a former track athlete and shows his long speed often in the open field as a home run threat. He has good agility and uses it to juke defenders out with some elusivity. Love also regularly hurdles defenders, showing that he has the athleticism to defeat defenses in almost any way imaginable.
His vision is great and sets him up to use his athletic talents to the best of his abilities. He shows solid patience and lets blocks get set up well. Once he sees a crease, he is able to hit it quickly, showing good processing speed. His vision extends to the second-level and the open field, as he is able to run to open space and is a creative runner.
He is a dynamic receiving threat out of the backfield and can even line up wide to really create mismatches. Love shows good route-running ability, with the ability to separate consistently. He can add more routes to his tree, but Love already runs more routes than most running backs and has good hands. His ability to split out wide can allow offenses to get creative on how they use him and set up the rest of their offense.
Jeremiyah Love Weaknesses
Love has solid size for an NFL running back, but can add a tad more strength to help himself. He was listed at 6-foot and 214 pounds, but likely played a bit lighter. Adding more strength will give him more power as a runner and could end up making him more durable as well. His contact balance is solid, but could be better and the added power could help him be a better short-yardage back.
He has a little bit of an injury history and his running style may not be the most durable. He had a knee injury before the 2025 season then also had a rib injury during the season. Love seemed to recover well and will likely check out medically at the NFL Combine. He could avoid more hits to help his durability and limit the number of times he tries to hurdle defenders, as he does it a lot.
His pass protection can improve for the next level as well. Adding strength will help him stand in against rushers. He does look for work in pass protection, but can put up more of a fight with added technique. Love can also recognize where pressure is coming from and improve his technique to help him protect the quarterback when facing bigger players.
