MJF has weighed in on the eternal debate regarding who is the greatest professional wrestler to ever lace up a pair of boots. While the AEW World Champion is known for his supreme confidence and belief that he sits atop the mountain, he recently admitted that there is one name who deserves to be mentioned in that conversation right behind him.
In a new social media post on January 13, MJF stated that outside of himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin is the undisputed greatest of all time. “In my opinion. After me of course. When people talk about the greatest of all time. They should be saying Steve Austin,” MJF wrote.
MJF is currently focused on cementing his own legacy as he prepares for a title defense. In another recent social media post, the champion made a bold prediction regarding his match tonight. He stated that he feels like he will knock off Bandido in just 1.5 minutes when they square off on AEW Dynamite for the AEW World Championship.
The match between MJF and Bandido has an interesting backstory involving the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Bandido won the ring before the end of 2025, becoming the only man in AEW history not named MJF to hold the prize.
AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage takes place tonight, January 14, live from the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to the AEW World Championship match, the show will feature the return of Kenny Omega. The card also includes a huge trios match pitting Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, and Harley Cameron against the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue). Fans will also see a Four-Way Tag Team match to determine the new number one contenders for the tag titles, featuring The Young Bucks, Gates of Agony, JetSpeed, and the Don Callis Family team of Jake Doyle and Mark Davis.
In my opinion.
After me of course.
When people talk about the greatest of all time.
They should be saying Steve Austin.
