Moshin Naqvi Orders Silence on India’s 2025 Trophy Issue

The conclusion on the decisions over India’s travel to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy in 2025 is still uncertain. A lot of things are going over that. A lot of speculation is being created over India’s tour to Pakistan. Questions are raised over their security in Pakistan. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has instructed his office and colleagues to avoid making any statements about India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy next year.

Naqvi’s Instruction:

After 2017, the Champions Trophy is coming back. This time, Pakistan got the hosting right and they are all set to host the event. Cricket-playing nations across the globe are all set to participate in this event. But India’s participation in the Champions Trophy is still uncertain. As both countries have political tension between them, Team India has still not confirmed their participation in the prestigious tournament.

After that, Pakistan has faced several questions regarding their security concerns. Reports say PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has told officials to stay silent about India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy. He has chosen not to comment and hopes the ICC will address the issue. Naqvi also instructed PCB officials to prepare for the 2025 Champions Trophy, assuming India will participate.

The source said, “That is why in recent days no comment or statement is coming from either Naqvi or any other board official on what will happen if India doesn’t send its team to Pakistan.”

PCB Sent the Draft Schedule:

The Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to take place in February 2025. But as India’s participation is not confirmed the schedule has not conformed yet. As per the reports, the board has submitted the draft schedule, security plans, and other key documents to the ICC. It is now up to the ICC to persuade India to participate in the tournament.

The source said, “The PCB has sent the draft schedule and submitted all other documents including security plans for each team to the ICC now it is for the owners of the CT to convince India to send its team.”

He also said, “It is clear Naqvi doesn’t want to show the PCB’s cards on what will be the reaction of the board if India again refuses to send its team but behind closed doors, after meetings with the government officials a strategy has been finalized.”
