TNPL 2024 final: In a captivating finale at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, the Dindigul Dragons clinched the Tamil Nadu Premier League title with a resounding six-wicket victory over the Lyca Kovai Kings. Chasing a target of 130 runs, the Dragons reached 131/4 in just 18.2 overs, overcoming the Kovai Kings with 10 balls to spare. This win secured their position as champions in a high-octane encounter, culminating the season with a spectacular finish.

Where did Lyca Kovai Kings fall short in TNPL 2024 final?

The Lyca Kovai Kings, opting to bat first after losing the toss, posted a competitive total of 129/7 in their 20 overs. Despite a solid start, the Kings struggled to accelerate their innings. Key contributions came from S Sujay with a brisk 22 and Ram Arvindh, who scored 27 runs. However, their innings faltered in the middle overs as they lost wickets at crucial junctures. Ravichandran Ashwin was the standout bowler for the Dragons, claiming 3/13, including the crucial wicket of M Shahrukh Khan, who could only manage 3 runs.

In response, the Dindigul Dragons began their chase cautiously but lost early wickets. Shivam Singh was dismissed cheaply, and Vimal Khumar followed soon after.
