Novak Djokovic equals Roger Federer’s all-time Australian Open record after latest win

Novak Djokovic’s run at the Australian Open continued with a hard-fought victory over Botic van de Zandschulp.

Controversy followed Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open, but he found a way to keep his perfect record going to topple the Dutchman in straight sets.

Djokovic set up a match with Jakub Mensik in the Australian Open fourth round for their first meeting since the Czech star defeated the Serb in the final of Indian Wells.

His latest victory at the Australian Open has seen him level an all-time record at the Grand Slam, which was set by Roger Federer.

Djokovic, of course, has a chance to become the outright record holder with his match against Mensik in the fourth round.

Stefan Edberg’s 56 wins in Melbourne, as well as Andy Murray’s 51 victories at the Australian Open, make up the top five.

As for Djokovic, the star has hit some incredible heights at the Australian Open already this year, including earning his 100th Australian Open victory to match Federer.

Novak Djokovic makes Open Era history at the Australian Open

As well as reaching 102 wins at the Australian Open, Djokovic also hit a landmark for overall Grand Slam victories.

His win over van de Zandschulp was the 400th Grand Slam victory of his career, which is a number no one in the Open Era has managed to reach.

Federer and Nadal have come closest to Djokovic’s record, but they ended their careers with 369 and 314, respectively.

With no signs of Djokovic bringing his career to an end, the Serbian star could extend his record even further in 2026.

The star reached the semi-finals in all four Grand Slams last season. If he does the same this year, he will add at least another 20 victories to his tally.
