President Donald Trump revealed in an interview with the New York Post that he will not be attending Super Bowl LX in San Francisco this February.

“It’s just too far away,” Trump said. “I would. I’ve (gotten) great hands (at) the Super Bowl. They like me.”

Bad Bunny and Green Day are both scheduled to perform at the event. They have been vocal critics of Trump and his administration.

“I’m anti-them,” Trump said. “I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”

Bad Bunny avoided performing in the Continental United States during his tour last year, expressing concern that ICE raids would put his fans in danger. His outward criticism of Trump has prompted backlash from some circles.

During live performances in recent years, Green Day has altered the lyrics of its hit single “American Idiot.” Instead of singing “I’m not part of a redneck agenda,” lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong declares, “I’m not part of the MAGA agenda.

Trump attended Super Bowl LIX last year between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. He was booed during an appearance at a Detroit Lions-Washington Commanders game in November.

The NFL has strongly defended its decision to have Bad Bunny perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.

“There’s a lot of people right now who don’t like Bad Bunny being in the Super Bowl halftime show,” said NFL chief marketing officer Tim Ellis in October. “Well, not everyone has to like everything we do. Bad Bunny is f—ing awesome.”
