Weather alert announced for snow showers in 5 Massachusetts counties Tuesday evening

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 6:27 p.m. on Tuesday for snow showers until 7:30 p.m. for Middlesex, Worcester, Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth counties.

“At 6:24 p.m., a several intense snow showers were near Burrillville and Webster, and 10 miles west of Woonsocket moving east at 30 MPH,” states the weather service.

Expect snow showers in the following locations:

  • Woonsocket, Cumberland, Smithfield, Lincoln, Bellingham, Burrillville, Uxbridge, North Smithfield, Glocester, and Blackstone around 6:30 p.m.
  • Franklin and Wrentham around 6:35 p.m.
  • Hopedale around 6:40 p.m.
  • North Attleborough and Plainville around 6:45 p.m.
  • Attleboro and Norfolk around 6:50 p.m.
  • Mansfield, Foxborough, and Medway around 6:55 p.m.
  • Walpole, Norton, and Millis around 7 p.m.
  • Sharon and Medfield around 7:05 p.m.

According to the weather service, “Use extra caution if you must travel into or through these snow showers. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.”
