Ben Healy has signed a long-term contract extension with EF Education-EasyPost, cementing his position as one of the American team’s main leaders.
The Irishman, 25, was entering a contract year with the team he turned professional with in 2022, but following the trend of teams renewing the contracts of their biggest stars long before they expire, Healy has committed to stay with EF until the end of the 2029 season. In doing so, Jonathan Vaughters, the general manager of the team, has also kept the circling sharks at distance from poaching one of his best riders.

Established as the peloton’s breakaway king after a number of memorable escape acts in recent seasons, Healy enjoyed his best year yet in 2025. He won a stage of the Tour de France with a 42 km long-range attack typical of his racing style, while he also wore yellow in the Tour for two days. He ended the season with a bronze medal at the Road World Championships.
Speaking exclusively to Escape Collective, Healy revealed that deciding to stay was an easy decision. “EF was always going to be a hard team for me to leave,” he said. “It’s the team I first joined and everything seems to be working really well with EF right now.
