Justin Gaethje got some help from an unusual source for his most recent UFC fight: ChatGPT.
Gaethje was back in action in the main event of UFC 324 last weekend. His opponent was England’s Paddy Pimblett, with the promotion’s interim lightweight belt on the line. He won the fight by decision.
Ahead of the fight, Gaethje prepared with many elite training partners. However, he also got a few last-minute pointers from popular AI tool ChatGPT.
Apparently, the AI seemed to know who he was, and was happy to help his cause.
He explained how he incorporated ChatGPT into his training in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
Justin Gaethje used ChatGPT in lead-up to UFC 324 title win
😭🤖 Justin Gaethje asked Chat GPT for an advice whether if he should take a cold tub before Paddy Pimblett fight and how long he should have a nap for:
“My Chat GPT obviously knew that I am about to fight. He knows who I am.”

“Earlier in the day, I asked ChatGPT something, and obviously my ChatGPT knows that I’m about to fight,” the new UFC champ began. “I wanted to sit in the cold tub, so I’m like ‘what do you think about cold tub on competition day?’ He said ‘it’s not a bad idea, but really just tell me how you feel.’ I said ‘I feel great.’ He said ‘well just shut the f**k up, wait, and trust that your body is going to do what it needs to do when the time comes.”
That’s not all Gaethje asked ChatGPT about before UFC 325.
“I asked it how long I should nap for,” he added. “I wanted to nap for like two hours, he said ‘don’t sleep for more than 20 minutes—20, 25 minutes. Then wake up and remind yourself that you’ve done this a million times and tonight is just the loud part.”
Having won the interim belt, Gaethje is now expected to unify his title with undisputed champ Ilia Topuria later in the year.
