Originally from India, Jaskaran Malhotra has announced his retirement from international cricket. The star USA batsman announced his retirement through means of social media on Thursday, August 8.
Malhotra had a significant impact on the United states cricket scene after his arrival. It was then through his consistent performances in domestic cricket, that he earned his place in the national team of USA.
Malhotra achieved an unforgettable achievement by becoming one of the only four cricketers who have hit six sixes in an over in international cricket. His most memorable innings came in an ODI against Papua New Guinea in 2021, in which he made a massive score of an unbeaten 173 runs, which included 16 sixes and 4 fours.
On August 8, 2024, Jaskaran Malhotra announced his retirement from international cricket through a whole-hearted message. He was expressing how he appreciated all the unforgettable experiences, friendships, and opportunities he got while representing the USA. Malhotra confirmed that he will continue to be involved in the franchise cricket and expressed his commitment to support the growth of Young American cricketers.
“August 8th, 2024, marks the end of an incredible chapter in my cricketing journey. Four years ago, I made my international T20 debut for the USA in Dubai, with my dad proudly watching from the stands. Today, I announce my retirement from international cricket,” Jaskaran’s post read.
“I’m grateful for the unforgettable memories, friendships, and experiences I’ve had representing USA Cricket. I thank all the coaches, support staff, and teammates who have supported me along the way. While I’ll continue to play in franchise leagues, my focus now shifts to giving back to the sport. I’m committed to helping young American cricketers achieve their dreams of playing for this great nation,” his post further read.
