Women’s
Kayla Mackel
Mackel dominated while leading the Tigers to a 2-0 weekend against Concordia (TX) and Texas Lutheran. She finished the weekend with 59 points, 14 rebounds, and six three pointers. On Friday in Austin, Mackel collected her second 30-point game and shot 53% from the floor while also grabbing eight boards. The following day in Seguin, Mackel scored 29 points, shot 59% from the floor, 63% (5-8) from three-point range, and grabbed six rebounds. She also had four steals and three blocks over the two games.
Leah Palmer
Palmer provided an incredible spark off the bench for the Titans, leading Illinois Wesleyan to two wins on the week. She averaged 20 points, six rebounds, two steals, two assists, and a block per game , while shooting 75% from the field, going 15-for-20, and 8-9 from the FT line. Palmer started the week with 12 points in just 19 minutes in Illinois Wesleyan’s lopsided win at Millikin, then erupted for a career-high 27 points against North Central. She connected on 11-of-15 shots from the field and went a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line.
Sydney Sierota
Sierota filled the stat sheet by posting averages of 12 points, six assists, nine rebounds, and four steals as Anderson went 2-0 on the week. She put together an all-around contribution against Earlham with 11 rebounds, eight assists, six steals, and nine points, then contributed 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block against Mount St. Joseph.
Kloey Lind
Lind played a pivotal role, both scoring and rebounding, in both of St. Scholastica’s MIAC wins last week. In Wednesday’s win at Augsburg, Lind grabbed eight rebounds and scored 15 points. She followed that up with an even bigger performance at home in a standings-shifting win over Saint Benedict, with 20 points (8-9 FG) and 12 rebounds, both team highs for the Saints. On the week, Lind averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 68% from the floor.
Madi Zancan
Zancan turned in a dominant week, averaging 30 points, 20 rebounds, and five steals per game while leading Regis to a pair of conference victories. She shot an outstanding 61% from the field and 93% from the free-throw line. Zancan opened the week with 27 points and 20 rebounds in a 79-61 win over Mitchell on January 28, then followed with a 32-point outing in an 82-77 win over Norwich, including the final 10 points of the game.
Men’s
Zevi Samet
Samet had a truly special week, averaging 44 points per game on 69% shooting to lead the Maccabees to a pair of conference wins. On Wednesday, the Macs rolled St. Joseph’s University Long Island thanks to 35 points from Samet. Then, against the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Samet dropped 52 points on 18-26 shooting (10-15 from three), not only leading YU to a dominant 110-72 win, but setting a new program single-game scoring record. On the week he averaged 69% from the floor, 60% from three, five rebounds, and three steals.
Yogi Oliff
Oliff averaged a triple-double to lead WashU to two huge conference wins this week. Against Rochester, he managed an amazing 19 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists, leading to weekly averages of 13 pointsm, 12 rebounds, and 11 steals, shooting 50% from the floor and missing just two free throws.
Kye Robinson
Robinson turned in a career week for No. 2 Mary Washington, scoring 28 points in a Wednesday win at Salisbury University and tying a career high with 38 points over UC Santa Cruz on Sunday. Robinson went 10-16 from the floor at Salisbury, while adding team highs with 10 rebounds and five assists. On Sunday, he made his first 13 field goal attempts before finishing 15-17, breaking the school record with an 88.2 FG%, while providing team highs of eight rebounds and seven assists. For the week, Robinson shot 76% from the floor (25-33) while averaging nine rebounds and six assists.
Nick Koch
Koch was nothing short of dominant in a pair of NJAC victories for the Lions, averaging 30 points per game on 58% shooting from the field (21-for-36) and 60% accuracy from 3-point range (9-for-15). He poured in 33 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired to lift TCNJ to an 84-82 double-overtime victory over Stockton on Wednesday, then had 27 points on 9-of-11 shooting along with nine assists as the Lions handled Ramapo, 85-59, on Saturday.
Chase Morgan
Morgan had a standout performance in Maryville’s lone game this week, against LaGrange, scoring 32 points on 12-17 shooting and 8-9 from the FT line. He also contributed nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, and a season-high of five blocks.
