Matt Cardona appeared on the Tuesday episode of SPORTbible’s Snack Wars, and his comments got a little risqué when he was presented with a pastry that inevitably made him reference the “buns” of his wife, fellow WWE superstar Chelsea Green.
During the segment, Cardona was asked to compare treats from the U.S. with similar items from the U.K. This led to a humorous response when he was presented with a Krispy Kreme donut and a British pastry known as a Chelsea bun.
Cardona immediately recognized the donut was from Krispy Kreme, but he had to be informed of the name of its British counterpart.
Someone from SPORTbible said to the wrestler formerly known as Zack Ryder: “It’s called a Chelsea bun. Have you ever eaten one before?”
The question elicited much laughter from Cardona, who answered: “Have I ever eaten a Chelsea bun? Oh my god, I don’t eat it enough.”
He continued: “Holy shit. A Chelsea bun. I might have to eat this whole thing, ’cause I don’t know if I’m getting any tonight.”
The Long Island native didn’t stop there, saying, “I might’ve had a lot of Chelsea buns before I got married, but now that I’m married, not so much Chelsea buns.”
Cardona then seemed to express some regret about his cheeky comments, adding, “Her parents are going to see this. Holy shit.”
Of course, his wife Chelsea, whom he married in 2021, was not going to let such a moment pass without a response.
“If he beats me in views because of this… I sweaaaaar…” Green wrote in a post on X (Twitter).
