Former UFC champion Sean O’Malley has named the fight he wants to see next for Paddy Pimblett.
At UFC 324, Paddy Pimblett showed a great deal of heart in his UFC interim lightweight title fight against Justin Gaethje. In the end, though, he simply wasn’t able to deal with what was coming back at him in the striking, and he didn’t really push too hard to get any takedowns either, which many were surprised to see.
For Paddy Pimblett, the future is uncertain – but we all know that he’s still a star. He is a big selling point for the UFC at this point in his career and hopefully, for the sake of the promotion at least, he’s able to come back even better from this setback.
In a recent video on his channel, Sean O’Malley gave his thoughts on who he wants to see Paddy Pimblett face off against – and you may not be too surprised by the answer.
Sean O’Malley discusses Paddy Pimblett’s next move
Dude, that’s the fight you’ve got to make, Dan Hooker vs. Paddy,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel. “It’s a fun fight. It’s a big fight, both coming off a loss. That’s what’s so f*cking sweet about the UFC, is we’re talking about two guys that just lost, and we still want to watch them fight.
“UFC has done such a good job building these characters. Paddy’s done a good job of building himself; Hooker’s done a good job of being himself. It’s like these guys just both f*cking lost, and I want to watch them fight.”
