Tom Brady tried to stay neutral ahead of Super Bowl LX, and it didn’t go over well in New England.

Brady said on his “Let’s Go” podcast that he “doesn’t have a dog in the fight” for Sunday’s Seahawks-Patriots matchup. That comment immediately sparked a public response from former Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, who basically told Brady to stop playing it down the middle.

Patriots Legend Calls Out Brady Over Seahawks-Pats Super Bowl Talk

Wilfork didn’t mince words when discussing Brady’s stance.

“That’s bullcrap, Tom,” Wilfork said during an appearance on Boston sports radio station WEEI, ripping Brady for refusing to pick a side. Wilfork also joked that Brady’s Raiders ownership isn’t an excuse to “straddle the fence,” adding that if Brady doesn’t think New England will win, “just pick Seattle then.”

The subplot here is obvious: Brady is Patriots royalty, but he also has a foot in another NFL building now.

NFL owners approved Brady as a limited partner of the Las Vegas Raiders in October 2024, with Brady personally holding a 5% stake. That business relationship has changed the way Brady talks about teams publicly, and it’s why his old locker room is side-eyeing him when the Patriots are back in the Super Bowl.

Fox News also noted Brady has a statue outside Gillette Stadium, which only adds to how weird it feels for some Patriots fans to hear him stay neutral.

What It Means for the Seahawks Going Into Super Bowl LX

From a Seattle perspective, this is the kind of sideshow you don’t mind seeing.

The Seahawks are trying to win the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy, and the last thing they need is the Patriots gaining emotional momentum from a unified “Patriots Nation vs. the world” narrative.

Instead, one of New England’s most beloved former stars is essentially calling Brady out for not publicly backing the Patriots. That’s not going to decide the game, but it does add a little extra noise, and it reinforces the idea that this isn’t the Brady-era Patriots anymore, even if the ghosts of that dynasty are still hanging around the matchup.

And yes, it’s impossible not to connect it back to the last time these two teams met on this stage.

Super Bowl LX is a Patriots-Seahawks rematch in Santa Clara, California, set for Sunday, February 8, 2026 — with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Key Details to Know Before Sunday

  • Matchup: Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots (Super Bowl LX)
  • Date/Time: Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026 — 6:30 p.m. ET
  • Location: Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara, California)
  • Brady’s key quote: “I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one.”
  • Why it’s touchy: Brady is a Raiders minority owner (5% stake) approved in 2024
  • Wilfork’s response: called it “bullcrap” and told Brady to stop “straddl[ing] the fence”

If Seattle wins, the Seahawks don’t just get a ring; they also put a new stamp on a rivalry that’s been frozen in time since that last Super Bowl meeting. And if the Patriots lose, the Brady dynasty stays in its own lane as the franchise’s defining era, which is exactly why some former Patriots seem so worked up about where Brady’s loyalty is supposed to land.
