Bangladesh Men’s Cricket Team is set to leave for Pakistan before their earlier scheduled date amid civil unrest in their home country.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed hosting Bangladesh for an extended stay, offering comprehensive training facilities in Rawalpindi due to the current civil unrest in Bangladesh.

The PCB announced that the Bangladesh team will train at Gaddafi Stadium from August 14-16. They then travel to Islamabad on August 17 to hold practice sessions at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 18-20.
“Sports is not only about winning and losing, it’s also about camaraderie,” PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer said. “I remain confident that the extra training sessions in Lahore will allow the players to showcase their best skills and talent on the global stage.”
“We are delighted that the BCB have accepted our offer. And we look forward to welcoming the Bangladesh men’s cricket team in Lahore on 13 August with our traditional hospitality. This will allow them to have three additional days of training and practice at one of our iconic venues before proceeding to Islamabad as originally planned.” He added.
Bangladesh’s foreign coaching staff opt out of practice sessions in Bangladesh
Bangladesh’s foreign coaching staff have decided to skip the practice sessions in Bangladesh. This is because their embassies have imposed travel restrictions due to the country’s political unrest.
This group includes head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, bowling coach Andre Adams, assistant coach Nic Pothas. Also spin consultant Mushtaq Ahmed, batting coach David Hemp, and strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kelly.
“We cannot force them (the foreign coaching staff) to attend practice sessions given their travel restrictions. The fact that several police stations in the city are still not operating is a significant concern,” a BCB official told Cricbuzz. “We are working on getting the team to Pakistan earlier.”
