Paula Sevilla is racing in Madrid, and she wants a fast 400 meters!

Paula Sevilla is a Spanish athlete who competes for NIKE.

Paula was at the Madrid Indoor Meeting presser today, February 5, 2026 at the Calle de Gallur in Madrid, Spain.

The indoor facility is wonderful; seating 2500 fans, the upgraded facility has a superb 200m banked indoor track and not a bad seat in the house!

Paula Sevilla came onto the scene in 2017, when, Paula was on the gold medal winning team for Spain at the European Athletics U23 Championships. “I knew after that race that I could race at a senior level.” , noted Paula at the Madrid Indoor Meeting today.

Paula is an acomplished athlete, having won the Spanish Championships at the 100 meters and 200 meters, as well as the 400 meter indoors.

Paula Sevilla ran a 22.73 for the 200 meters in 2022, and became #2 all-time on the Spanish rankings, behind the iconic Sandra Myers.

Paula made a name for herself in the 4×100 meters and the 4×400 meters, competing for the Spanish National team in Eugene 2022, Budapest 2023 and Paris 2024.

In 2025, at the European Indoor Championships, Paula Sevilla took the bronze in the 400 meters behind gold medalist Lieke Klaver and silver medalist Henrietta Jager, running 50.99! At the Tokyo World Championships, Paula ran 50.97, in the semi-finals.

Paula Sevilla has a personal best of 50.70, set at the 2025 European team Championships. She is excited about racing Lieke Klaver on Friday at the Madrid Indoor Meeting!

In an interview with RunBlogRun, Paula said that’ I like Leika Klaver. She is the world leader. The crowd in the Madrid Indoor will be very good and supportive. I wll try to stay as close to Lieka as I can! ”

Paula Sevilla is racing on her home track. She knows this track well, and fans here will be supporting her, cajoling her to take her first win on the World Indoor Tour Gold meetings. The duel between Klaver and Sevilla should be one of the highlights of the met on Friday!
