Wilson Drops the Rush 5 Tour: Is This the Most Explosive Shoe of 2026?

Wilson just pulled back the curtain on its most ambitious footwear project to date: the Rush 5 Tour™. We have been lucky enough to playtest the predecessors of stability tennis shoes, the Rush 2.0 and the Rush 4.0 and the Rush 4.5 and found them very comfortable. The most recent iteration is genuinely one of the most comfortable shoes ( not just tennis shoes for hard courts) I have ever worn. They are brilliant.

Many tennis brands are content with minor cosmetic updates with new colorways or small technical improvements, Wilson has spent two years in the lab performing biomechanical analysis to build a shoe specifically for the “modern” game—a game where the baseline dominates and changing direction in a split second is key. They have produced a significantly updated stability tennis shoe for 2026.

Wilson Rush Pro 5.0 from heel

The new franchise Rush 5 Tour is already being validated on the pro tour by the likes of Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov, and Jiří Lehečka. All these players are Wilson 360 athletes. Here is everything you need to know about the February 12th launch.

Stability Tennis Shoes: Borrowing from the Racket Lab

The standalone feature of the Rush 5 Tour is the Dual Axis Speed Carbon Frame. Inspired by Wilson’s FORTYFIVE° carbon technology found in their rackets, this midfoot “yoke” manages the twisting forces when you plant your foot wide. This is said to give the shoe enormous stability.

Basically, it provides rock-solid stability during lateral lunges but still allows your foot to flex naturally when you’re sprinting forward for a drop shot.

Explosive Cushioning

In an effort to improve cushioning and energy return, Wilson has integrated a Pebax® midsole in the forefoot. If that sounds familiar, it’s because Pebax is the “super foam” used in elite marathon shoes.  For tennis players, this means a bouncier, more responsive feel that keeps your legs feeling fresh into the third set. What is not to like about that?

Three Models to Fit Your Budget

Wilson is releasing the Rush 5 in three distinct tiers, ensuring there is an option for everyone from the weekend warrior to the aspiring pro: This is a nice touch and will cover all levels of budget and player.

  • Rush 5 Tour : Competitive players who need elite durability and “Tour” level tech.
  • Rush 5 Pro: The “Sweet Spot”—great stability and comfort for the serious club player.
  • Rush 5 Lite : Beginners or casual players looking for a lightweight, breathable ride.

The Tour model is a premium investment in your game. However, if you are an aggressive mover who tends to “roll” your ankles or wear through shoes quickly, the combination of the EndoFit internal support and the GammaWeave mesh upper makes this one of the most secure-feeling shoes on the market. We will try these shoes soon and get to feed back on how accurate the Wilson claims are.

Availability: The full collection drops February 12th. The debut colorway features a clean White, Bay, and Fiery Coral palette, with special “Grand Slam” editions expected to drop throughout the 2026 season.
