The hits keep coming for the Rangers, as rookies Brennan Othmann and Scott Morrow both be healthy scratches in the NY Rangers lines tonight. This comes on the heels of one of the worst trades we’ve seen, and puts serious doubts into the direction of the Rangers. The letter said one thing, but the game lineups say another. Maybe there’s some logic here, but it doesn’t seem like Chris Drury and Mike Sullivan are in sync right now.
We can easily explain the Morrow scratch – the Rangers just claimed Vincent Iorio off waives and until more trades come, they want to see what they have in him. So Morrow is the odd man out.
Othmann is harder to explain away, as dressing Anton Blidh in a lost season just makes no sense. The Rangers are a mess.
