Usman Nurmagomedov notched another successful title defense at PFL Dubai, putting Alfie Davis to sleep in the third round of their lightweight championship headliner.
Nurmagomedov got his offense started with a takedown in the opening round before punishing Davis’ legs with a bevy of brutal low kicks throughout the second stanza. But despite likely surrendering the first two rounds on the scorecards, Davis appeared to start loosening up in the third.
Of course, Nurmagomedov was quick to snuff out Davis’ growing confidence, securing a takedown mere seconds into the middle round. Davis fought his way back up, but it wasn’t long before Nurmagomedov had him back on the mat once again.
This time, Nurmagomedov had no intention of letting Davis off the hook.
With less than 30 seconds left in the round, Nurmagomedov managed to lock in a rear-naked choke and render Davis unconscious.
