The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots are going to face off against each other on Sunday in Super Bowl LX. It will be the second time the two teams will have faced each other in America’s highest-viewed sporting contest. The last time they met was in Super Bowl XLIX, which was won by the Patriots by a score of 28-24.
Of course, much has changed on both teams since their matchup 11 years ago. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have moved on from New England, and Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson are both no longer in Seattle. Fans will be treated to a much different, albeit exciting, game between these two teams.
Super Bowl LX
The Patriots finished the 2025 NFL season 14-3 and earned the number two seed in the AFC. They had an identical record as the Denver Broncos, whom they defeated in the AFC Championship, but did not have the tie-breaker over them.
The Seahawks, meanwhile, also finished the year 14-3, but were the top seed in the NFC, earning a first round bye. The latest Super Bowl odds have the Seahawks favored at -235 on the moneyline and -4.5 point spread.
Indeed, both teams dominated their opponents for most of the year, so this year’s Super Bowl is sure to be an exciting affair.
2 Predictions for Super Bowl LX
1. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will throw an interception
One of the best stories of the NFL this year has been Sam Darnold coming to Seattle in free agency after the Minnesota Vikings decided that they did not want him anymore. He had a good year, making the Pro Bowl and registering a 67.7% completion percentage, 4,048 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and a 99.1 passer rating.
However, he also threw 14 interceptions, the second-highest total in his career. While he has not thrown any picks in the postseason thus far, he is prone to poor decisions when he is under pressure. New England is an excellent pass rushing team, and may be able to force Darnold into a poor throw that will result in an interception.
2. New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs will record 90+ receiving yards
A great story in this year’s NFL Playoffs has been Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs finally making it to the Super Bowl after disappointment upon disappointment on his previous teams. He had himself a great regular season, too, recording 85 receptions for 1,013 yards, and four touchdowns.
He has, though, not put up big numbers in the NFL Playoffs thus far. In New England’s Wild Card round, he had two receptions for 16 yards. The next week, in the Divisional Round, Diggs caught four passes for 40 yards. And in the AFC title game, he had five receptions for 17 yards.
But great players come up big in big games, and there is no game bigger than the Super Bowl. After waiting so long to get here, Diggs is going to break through for a big night with more than 90 receiving yards.
3. The New England Patriots will defeat the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX
Both teams have offenses capable of putting up a lot of points, but both teams also have extraordinary defenses. In the end, the Patriots will be able to put up just enough points led by MVP-runner up Drake Maye to overcome the Seahawks.
