Kilimani RFC were crowned champions of the 2026 Chebisaas Boys Rugby 15s Open Tournament after a thrilling two-day showdown.
From the opening whistle to the final tackle, the tournament lived up to its billing, with schools pushing limits in one of the most competitive high school rugby events of the season.
The opening day saw early statements from Kilimani, Chebisaas, St Joseph’s Boys Kitale, St Patrick’s Iten and Laboret as the race for the knockout places intensified.
Kilimani looked the most polished outfit from the start, combining power and structure to post flawless group-stage performances. Hosts Chebisaas rode on the home crowd to deliver physical, fast-paced rugby, while St Patrick’s Iten showed maturity and control to grind out key victories.
St Joseph’s Boys Kitale also impressed with their trademark intensity, setting up a mouth-watering knockout phase.

Kilimani sent a strong message in the quarterfinals with a 15–00 shutout of Iten Day, while JOBO edged Warreng 15–06 in a tense clash. Chebisaas continued their fairytale run by outmuscling Kipsombe 18–03, as St Patrick’s Iten registered the biggest win of the day, dismantling Laboret 36–00.
Kilimani overcame a stubborn JOBO side 10–00 in a tactical, low-scoring battle. St Patrick’s Iten then broke the hearts of the home fans, edging Chebisaas 05–00 in a nervy contest to reach the final.
The title decider between Kilimani and St Patrick’s Iten was a chess match of defense, discipline and desire. Both sides cancelled each other out for long periods, with every metre hard-earned.
When the final whistle blew, Kilimani stood tall, edging Iten 5–3 to seal the crown and cap off a dominant tournament run.
