Elisa Longo Borghini took the final stage of the UAE Tour with a decisive solo victory on Jebel Hafeet for the overall win.

“I just embraced the game that they were playing. It was fun, actually. I was looking for the best moment to attack, and when I felt it was a good moment, I went. I was sure it would not be the one where I would drop everybody, so I just waited and looked around, I saw Kasia with her face pretty fatigued and was like, ‘OK, I hi=t once more and then I’m pretty sure I will go solo’. I stayed away, I didn’t go easy to the finish, but I had my own pace and couldn’t enjoy the final.”

Baptiste Veistroffer (Lotto Inermarched) claimed a solo victory and the overall lead on Stage 2 of the Tour of Oman, attacking from the day’s breakaway to hold of a charging peloton.

In the final stage of Etoile de Besseges, featured its traditional 10km time trial around Ares, with the decisive climb of the Ermitage. Ewen Costiou (Groupamana FDJ) dominated the closing TT and victory was close, but the icing on the cake came shortly after when Lukas Kubis crossed the line with a 35-seconds deficit. It was enough for the young Breton to secure the overall victory – the first two victories of the 2026 season for Groupama FDJ United cycling team. Team mate, Maxime Decomble was second in the TT, and third overall a perfect day for the French squad!

“It’s amazing! The plan worked perfectly. We had two cards for the overall, and we both finished on the final podium. I felt great this morning, just like all week, and I put in a great time trial. I’m happy.”
