Sentinels shared a seven-second clip on its Marvel Rivals social media account, which notably featured a Doctor Strange portal animation, which many fans have interpreted as signifying a return to the scene.

Back in November, Sentinels announced that it was putting its Marvel Rivals operations on hold, parting ways with several of its players. However, the organisation stated that it was open to returning if NetEase introduced ‘team incentives’.

Since then, NetEase has unveiled a revamped roadmap of the Marvel Rivals Ignite 2026 season, which also came with the announcement of the Partner Teams programme.

The incentive allows partnered teams to receive revenue sharing through esports-themed bundles sold in-game. Applications were opened back in January, and the final selections were held before February 2026. The full line-up of partnered teams has yet to be officially announced.

Before pausing operations, Sentinels established itself as a core pillar in the Marvel Rivals esports scene, especially in North America. Its popularity resulted in Sentinels becoming the most visited Marvel Rivals team on Liquipedia in 2025.

After making its debut in the scene back in April 2025, Sentinels became a regular competitor in all levels of competition, from the Seasonal Championships, weekly Fight Nights, and the Ignite Mid-Season Finals.

The organisation’s greatest accomplishment in the 2025 season was becoming the Ignite Stage 1 Americas champions, a feat achieved after defeating 100 Thieves in the Grand Finals. However, the team ultimately ended the year on a low note, failing to qualify for the Ignite Grand Finals after a disappointing Ignite Stage 2 performance.
