Wriddhiman Saha to Rejoin Bengal, Available for All Formats

Veteran cricketer Wriddhiman Saha is set to return to Bengal for the upcoming domestic season, making himself available for all three formats of the game. Saha, who had spent the past two seasons with Tripura following a fallout with a Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) official, is poised to join Bengal’s pre-season practice later this week.

The CAB welcomed Saha’s return, with president Snehasish Ganguly expressing enthusiasm about the addition. Ganguly noted that Saha’s comeback, along with Sudip Chatterjee’s return, will be instrumental in filling the gap left by former captain Manoj Tiwary, who retired at the end of last season.

Saha, known for his selfless approach, emphasised his readiness to contribute in any role the team requires. Despite the rise of young wicketkeeper-batter Abhishek Porel, who has impressed both for Bengal and the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL, Saha has expressed his willingness to step back if needed. “I am happy to be back and will contribute to the best of my abilities,” Saha stated. He added, “If the team management prefers Abhishek as the primary wicketkeeper, I have no objections and am prepared to play as a batter.”
