He Just Wanted To Be A Ninja Turtle And Now He’s Fighting In The UFC

Mansur Abdul-Malik, who now competes in the UFC, says he originally got into fighting because he wanted to be a Ninja Turtle.

The 28-year-old boasts a pro-MMA record of 9 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw. What’s more impressive is the stats.

In 2024, Mansur Abdul-Malik earned a Round 2 TKO victory over Wes Schultz on Dana White’s Contender Series to secure a UFC contract.

Later that year, he made his octagon debut against Duško Todorović and secured a Round 1 knockout victory.

His second fight in the UFC was against Nick Klein in February 2025, which he won by Round 2 knockout. Later that year, in June, he locked horns with Cody Brundage, and after three rounds, their bout ended in a draw.

Abdul-Malik competed once more in 2025, and this time he secured a submission victory in Round 1 against Antonio Trocoli.

Mansur Abdul-Malik will next enter the octagon in March at UFC Seattle opposite Yousri Belgaroui (9-3).

In a recent episode of the JAXXON Podcast, when Mansur Abdul-Malik asked if he got into fighting at the age of six to be a Ninja Turtle, the 28-year-old admitted:

“Yes, it’s very true. It’s totally true, and it’s still the idea that I have now, man. I see myself as something different. A lot of people say, ‘Oh, you’re on this tear, you’re a rising star.’ I never see it as that. It’s not even me downplaying anything. I literally don’t see it as that. I literally just train martial arts. I love to eat food. I love to compete and be under the lights. I feel no pressure. None of that stuff even comes into my mind.”

Abdul-Malik added that he feels more pressure while shopping than he ever does inside the octagon:

“Every single time I go to compete, I don’t think about tomorrow. I don’t think about waking up the next day, and it’s just so freeing. It’s literally just me in there. I just feel so peaceful. I feel more pressure going to Whole Foods and just going to grocery shop. When I compete, it’s just beautiful, man. That’s all I’m really trying to do.”
